Royal Copenhagen
Where heritage is carried forward, not held still
How does one begin to capture a defining chapter of creative work for an iconic 250-year-old brand in just a few images and a short text—perhaps you don’t, but you try…
The story of Royal Copenhagen is one that should never truly end. My own chapter unfolded over 15 years—from 2005 to 2020—guided by a deep respect for beauty, heritage, design, and the rhythm of a living business.
For me, it was never about preserving the past as something static, but about caring for it in a way that could gently carry it forward.
You could say that everything is sacred—but in reality, as long as the founding spirit remains intact, there must also be room to evolve. To refine. To reinterpret.

Shaping a new direction—together
During these years, I had the privilege of helping shape a new direction—one that opened the brand towards a more contemporary, creative, and everyday sense of luxury. A direction rooted in history, yet clearly aware of the time we live in.
It is a journey I look back on with quiet pride—one that, I believe, continues to unfold and reveal new possibilities.
Along the way, I was fortunate to collaborate with a remarkable group of artists, designers, and highly skilled craftsmen—both within and beyond the house.
Among them: @studiolouisecampbell, @anjavangkragh, @cathrinerabendavidsen, @troelscarlsen, @martinbigum, @gamfratesi, @sosukenakabo, @emilygernild, @jensbangbo, @anderhviid, @agsermortensen—and many, many more.

Expanding the boundaries of a historic craft
An important part of bringing the legacy of Royal Copenhagen into a contemporary setting was to continuously challenge the craftsmanship—pushing the boundaries of porcelain production beyond its limits.
For centuries, Royal Copenhagen has worked closely with both classic and contemporary artists. For me, this became a way of introducing new perspectives into a historic legacy—allowing the aesthetic to be both inspired and challenged by voices from around the world.
Even today, those years as Creative Director remain close to me.
They continue to inform and inspire my work, naturally finding their way into new projects—where past and present meet in a quiet, ongoing dialogue.
